Mit dieser Arbeit möchte ich einen Gedankenanstoß geben, damit sich der Leser selber die Frage stellt, warum Konsum in den Industrienationen nicht ausreichend den Wohlstand in Schwellenländern fördert, obwohl Wohlstand erstgenannter auf vielerlei Ressourcen dieser basiert? Warum versackt der Wohlstand auf dem Weg von den Industrienationen zu den Schwellenländern, die ökonomisch unterentwickelt sind, aber dennoch die Ressourcen, die foundation liefern? Müsste nicht durch unseren bewussten Konsum der Fluß des Konsums weiterfließen können? Müsste es nicht im Interesse des Konsumenten sein, Wohlstand weiter zu tragen?
Genau diese Fragen möchte ich anreißen und die zunehmende Wichtigkeit unserer Rolle als Konsument hervorheben. Mit dem gerne vielzitierten „Näherrücken“ der Welt im Allgemeinen und der Liberalisierung der Märkte weltweit werden den Staaten nach und nach Möglichkeiten genommen beziehungsweise werden sie der Macht entzogen, diesen soziale Grenzen zu setzen. Im Zuge dieses Phänomens haben sich viele Politiker mehr und mehr den Unternehmen unterworfen und sich damit ihrer gesellschaftlichen Pflicht entzogen und vor allen Dingen im letzten Jahrhundert allzuoft bereichert.
